After an exciting and dramatic three-way play-off, Soenderby was announced the winner of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open for 2023. Soenderby, who started the day in a tie for 21st place, amazed spectators with 11 birdies in her final round, which led to her contention for the three-way playoff with Anne Van Dam and Lisa Petterson. The 23 year-old scored an eagle on the first play-off hole to secure her maiden title on the Ladies European Tour (LET). The successful win meant she jumped in ranking from 48th to 19th place in the LET tournament.

This was the second year that Dromoland hosted the KPMG Women’s Irish Open with more than 30,000 spectators being welcomed throughout the event. It has been announced that next year the tournament will take place on the iconic O’Meara course at Carton House, Fairmont in Kildare .

Two of Amundi’s European Amundi Team players, Kim Métraux of Switzerland and Sára Kousková of Czech Republic, played in the tournament with both playing through to the final round. Sára in particular, had a spectacular third round in which she scored -8 on Saturday afternoon, putting her into 5th place going into the final round. This is the second time that the Europe Amundi Team competed on Irish soil with Camille Chevalier, a previous member of the team making her second appearance at the event.
